I decided to share this exactly as I wrote it, after ruminating over whether or not it should be repackaged.
The context for this piece is that it began as an idea for a particular internet-based service, and it ended up describing a larger vision, both following from and leading toward its conception. The particular business idea is irrelevant for the purposes of this post, but may some day soon be announced as a new technology. I’m not as fond of developing “products” as I am developing “technologies.”
Here’s what I wrote:
No fussing with areas you aren’t interested in.
Developers stick to developing
Business people stick to their businesses
Creating a sustainable, self-sufficient community.
Great way to hotplate ideas, to see if they’re marketable.
Integrate with Online cultural networks.
The social web becomes a massive cultural connection, gradually obviating the akwrrd social paradigm we used to have to use on ourselves.
Cultural connections become critical to expanding your market, globally & locally.
Cultural mapping becomes necessitated.
The best maps do the best job, at least in cases where the map is needlessly detailed for the purpose.
Business becomes humanized.
Humanity decidedly.moves out of the Industrial Age and into a Post-Informational, Human Age.
